Liver Surgery - Live Updates Here

We got here to the Surgical Services dept. this morning at 730am.
Dr. Clark was running a little behind with the operation he is doing before Christian's.
We finally got called back to the staging prep bay around 10am.

She got hooked up to all the monitors, and IV. They took a little blood and went over some things.

A few of the anesthesia docs came and talked about the nerve blockers they are going to give her.

When they were ready to get going on that, I was asked to leave, so I am in the waiting room for the rest of the day pretty much.

I have downloaded an app, that lets anyone involved in her operation send me updates.

The next update I get, should be her being moved from the staging prep bay, to the operating room.

When I get that update, and any following updates, they will be added to this post below.
Thanks, Kenny

Update: Surgery started at 11:30am

Update: At 12:30 one of the OR nurses called me and said that when the status was updated to "Surgery started at 11:30", they meant the anesthesia, put her to sleep, breathing tube, etc.. was started at 11:30.
She said that all of that went extremely well. She said that a few minutes before 12:30 they made the incision and the procedure was actually started. She said she would call me back in 1.5 to 2 hours with another update to let me know how she is doing.

Update: Just got a call from the OR nurse again (2:05pm) and she said that Christian's surgery is progressing well, and everything has been going smooth as it should be. That is all they could really say. So far so good. She said she would call me back in 1.5hrs or so with another update.

Update: Just got a call from the OR nurse again (4:05pm) and she said that they are still operating and everything is still going well. She said Dr. Clark seems pleased with how things are progressing in the procedure. She isn't able to give me a timeframe on how much longer, but if they are still operating in 1.5hrs or so, she will be calling me back then. If they finish before that time, then one of the doctors will be calling me to discuss how the entire operation went.

Update: 5:30pm - Dr. Clark paged me to the front and discussed how the procedure went.
He said it went very well, and he was very pleased with everything. He said he removed her entire right lobe, which he said contained all of the tumors. He said there was one tumor that was sort of right in the middle (right lobe / left lobe) that he extracted as well. He said he inspected the left lobe and did not find any evidence of any tumors in that lobe. She will be in recovery for 1-2 hours. After that, she will be transported to her room in the Cancer Center, and will not require an ICU bed, which is great. She will be there until Tuesday is his best guess for now. It could be Wednesday. He said she did not need a blood transfusion, which is great. All in all, it sounds like the procedure went as well as it could have gone, and he feels very positive that there is no cancer in the left lobe of the liver. With that said, the last 4 chemo cycles would "bat clean-up" if there were to be anything too small to see. He is hoping she will be up a little tomorrow sitting in a chair, and then progress from there to getting some walking in over the next few days. I am going to go see if they know what room she will be going to, so I can go hang out there instead of this waiting room I have been sitting in all day. Very glad things went great!!
