Chemo Treatment 3

It is Tuesday June 1, 2021. We just got home a little bit ago from getting her 3rd treatment.

It went very well, as they all have so far, but it was another long day.

We got there at 8:30am, waited to get checked in, then went straight back to Pod E.
We did not have a meeting before treatment with Dr. Paluri this time because of Memorial Day Holiday yesterday changing the schedule. Usually treatment is every other Monday.
Her next treatment will be on Monday June 14th, so we will be back on track for it.
It will also be her last treatment before the scans (MRI on June 18, CT on June 21), so we are looking forward to getting those scan results and discussing them with Dr. Paluri the afternoon of June 21st.

Treatment today went as usual. Pre-meds, then Irinotecan, then Oxaliplatin, then get hooked up to the 5-FU pump (Franklin the 3rd lol) that she will have until we go back on Thursday at 3pm to have it un-hooked. We got out of there around 3:30, and home at 4pm.

She is feeling it more this afternoon then she has on treatment day the previous two treatments.
Usually, side effects don't really start presenting themselves until a day or two after treatment.
She is pretty tired this evening and is actually taking a nap on the couch with the dog as I type.

Just fatigue and tiredness for now. I will update if there is anything to share of course, over the next few days.

Now that we have gotten all of the treatment info from today out of the way, lets share some cool stories and a few pics.

Christian just had a birthday last Thursday (May 27th). So we decided we wanted to go try an Irish Restaurant in Greensboro that had great reviews. We stopped by and picked up her sister Jen, her husband Steven, and their daughter Annabell. It was a really good dinner.

We also had a little cookout at our house (Saturday I think) and had a few people over for that. We had some burgers and dogs on the grill, pork belly burnt ends on the smoker, and some brats on the smoker. Everything was really good. We forgot to get a pic, but it was a good time with friends and family.

She had many visitors today during treatment, and she made her rounds afterwards to go visit some other co-workers that she had not seen in a while. Everyone enjoyed that for sure. A few people dropped off cards, and gifts for her birthday last week.

Here she is holding up a nice sweater that her boss Debbie got her. She really likes it.

A few of her friends from previous jobs stopped by the house the other night and dropped off a little goody bag with some stuff for her birthday as well. She had to do a little fashion show to try everything on of course, so here is one of the sets, and the slippers they gave her, which she loves:

Lastly but not least, she got a couple coloring books and word searches from people over the past few weeks that she has been enjoying during treatment. Here she is coloring in one today while she was getting her Irinotecan.

Thanks to everyone for all the support and prayers. We are rolling with the plan, and will have a better idea on where we are after the meeting with Dr. Paluri on June 21st, so we are looking forward to that.

I am sure I forgot to mention something we did or a gift or something, since it has been a little bit since I have posted. If I did, I apologize. It has been a long day. Thanks to everyone for everything.
