MRI Results, Chemo Treatment #13

Today was a long day.

We got to the hospital around 10:15 to get the day started with labs & a meeting with Dr. Paluri.

During this meeting, he went over the Liver MRI results.
The MRI confirms that there are numerous tumors in the liver.

We discussed a lot of information about steps moving forward, and like this entire process, there are a million different scenarios.
The only thing that we know for certain about the path moving forward is this:

-Christian will need 4 more chemo treatments (this includes today's treatment).
-After the 4 treatments, she will get another CT scan of chest/abdomen/pelvis.
-After we have the CT Scan results, we will plan a path forward with that information.

Beyond that, there isn't much to talk about. Right now, we need to determine if the chemo will shrink (or stop the growth of) the tumors in the liver. The outcome of that is what will dictate the next steps.
So the best thing anyone can do right now, is to think of her, and pray for her that the chemo will do it's job and shrink the tumors.

With all of that said, she was hoping to never have to hold up the 13, but these are the cards she got dealt.

We got to the pod for chemo treatment around 12pm. It was right around that time that EPIC (hospital chart network) went down, and it stayed down until a little after 2pm. During this time, they were unable to access her chart, so they were unable to begin the treatment. Pre-meds & chemo got going around 2:30pm.
After the system was back up, I went ahead and scheduled the next 3 treatments (March 7, March 21, April 4), and the CT Scan (April 11).
We left the hospital at 5:30pm, are at home, and ate a little dinner, now relaxing.

She has her 5-FU chemo pump and will have it until Wednesday evening at 5:30pm when I will take her back up there to be unhooked from it.

She is tired and needs to rest. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she goes thru another week of this mess. Thanks
